FIRST FRIENDSHIP MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH
(A Complete History is Maintained in the Church Office)
The path of the FIRST FRIENDSHIP MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH from its beginning one hundred and one years ago, has been winding and turning. It has been trod upon by a multitude of Christians along the way.
The idea of organizing the First Friendship Missionary Baptist Church was that of the Late REVEREND JOE JENKINS, DEACON ED JACKSON, DEACON GREEN, SISTER ANN TAYLOR and a few others. On March 17, 1916, at McAlaster and Perry Streets, it became a reality.
Throughout the 100 years existence the First Church has had many great pastors to help lead it through the generations.
It was on November 22, 2015, REVEREND DAVID X. CHAVIS was installed as the tenth pastor of FIRST FRIENDSHIP MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH.
Pastor Chavis has shown himself to be spirit led and has begun to carry the staff and leadership with the vision God has given him. That vision is to help others grow in the kingdom, love everybody, find their purpose, and reach the unreached.
