Pastor David Chavis

 

SENIOR PASTOR

 

Pastor David Chavis is the Senior Pastor of First Friendship Missionary Baptist Church (FFMBC) in the city of Savannah, GA. He is a very anointed and dynamic leader that has a passion for God’s people. He is very passionate about pastoring people with the goal of leading them to a strong spiritual life with God and a life of freedom to be all God has called them to be. His Vision is to help others grow in the kingdom, love everybody, find their purpose, and reach the unreached.

Before becoming the pastor of FFMBC Pastor Chavis served as an Associate Minister at Happy Home Missionary Baptist Church of Savannah, GA. There he served in numerous leadership roles to help build God’s kingdom. He is also a Veteran of the United States Army and is grateful to have faithfully served our country by deploying to Afghanistan, Iraq, and Kuwait. As a soldier Pastor Chavis displayed his passion for God’s people by helping them to get connected to God and ministering to their spiritual needs.

Pastor Chavis is known for being humble and outgoing. Dynamic and impactful are words often used about him when speaking of how he shares the word of God. Through his teaching many lives have been changed for the better to follow Jesus and many people have been inspired to live a victorious life in a challenging world.

Pastor Chavis believes in education as he has bachelor’s degree in Human Services from Columbia College and is currently pursuing his Masters of Divinity at Regent University. He is determined to lead best he can to help capture the lost and equip the saints for a better now and a brighter tomorrow.

He is very family oriented as he is the husband of Rasheema Chavis and they are the parents of A’lice (10), Aubre (5), Isaiah and Malachi (Feb 2018)
